Superwow Gallery presents Funny Faces. A solo exhibition by Australian pop artist Aaron Craig. This vibrant body of work is defined by saturated colour, joyful cartoon elements, and nostalgic character-building. Drawing from cartoons, toys, and pop ephemera, Aaron creates a cast of characters that feel instantly familiar while remaining unmistakably his own—playful, iconic, and culturally inspired.
Saturated colour and material innovation sit at the core of this exhibition. Aaron combines spray paint, airbrush, and crisp acrylic linework; blending immediate techniques with studio precision. He has begun working with faux fur in a painterly canvas context, something previously unexplored by pop-artists globally, using the material as an active surface to introduce texture, tactility, and depth—challenging traditional expectations of pop art painting.
Together, these works celebrate a new direction where a looser style shines through character, colour, and material experimentation, inviting viewers to reconnect with nostalgia while engaging with a distinctly modern series of painting.
